I love chocolate, especially dark chocolate. One of my favorite brands of chocolate is Dove. Not only is the chocolate rich and decadent, but I enjoy the messages inside the wrappers almost as much as I do the chocolate.

I learned that the messages were introduced in 1991 “to create an emotional bond with consumers.” I think it works. The messages encourage positive thinking and personal growth. I often “iron” out the wrapper with my fingers and keep them for continued inspiration.

When I treated myself to a chocolate after lunch today, I thought it was a perfect message for today’s blog: Get Lost in the Pages of Your Story.

I have been sharing stories via my blog for about two years. I also began writing my memoir with the intention of turning it into a book one day.

But I also realized that my story wasn’t enough. I wanted to hear stories from others. I am constantly inspired by people I meet, those who speak at events, or guests on a podcast.

I started the year with an announcement that my BHAG (Big Hairy Audacious Goal) for 2026 is to write a book. The response has been overwhelming.

In almost every room, a hand goes up and a voice responds with a willingness to be a guest on my podcast and a chapter in my book. Interviews have begun, and I can’t wait to share them publicly.

My guests have incredible stories of resilience and how they were able to shift their mindset from heartbreak, grief, and overwhelm to stories of success and growth that will help others see themselves in the stories and overcome similar challenges they may face. The stories include devastating accidents, grief over a lost love, facing single motherhood while helping other moms, navigating foster care, fighting cancer twice—and they are just beginning to come in.

What I’m learning through this process is that stories don’t just belong to the people who lived them. They belong to the people who need to hear them. Sometimes we don’t realize how much strength we carry until we see it reflected in someone else’s journey.

The edits have begun, and the artwork will follow soon. Stay tuned for more exciting announcements, and please email me if you have stories of resilience and shifting mindsets that you are ready to share.
